Twilight (2008)

You know what? I don’t really care about the tweens trying to send death threats to ANYBODY that has a slight bit of disdain for Twilight.

I did not hate this movie, but I didn’t love it either. Everybody knows who the characters are, the love story between Bella and Edward. I am not going to give a synopsis of this movie.

Here are the good points to the movie. Catherine Hardwicke has done a terrific job with the direction of the movie. The mood of the movie, being very bleak and dreary was very good. The dynamics at the high school were very realistic. The movements of the vampires were quite good.

Here are some things that I didn’t like about this movie. Edward. He is supposed to be the brooding, good-looking guy, but he was so creepy with being so protective of Bella. I did not get why the hell would Bella fall for him. There is no blood, no fangs. Bella finally finds out that Edward is a vampire like 45 minutes into the movie. You don’t even see the “villain” of the movie, James, until at the 1:30 hour mark of the movie. The final battle is at a ballet studio. WTF?

If you are a tween girl, you will be creaming in your panties for Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigandet. Going total apeshit over this film. If you are not, it’s a nice movie that you wish would have some substance in it.

My rating: **1/2 stars
