Gone Baby Gone (2007)

I have nothing against Ben Affleck or his directorial debut. I will say that when it was adapted from the novel by Dennis Lehane, I thought it would have the same themes like it did with Mystic River. Unsympathetic, unlikeable characters that do despicable things that lead to a weird ending.

That is also true with this movie. I have no idea, but the Boston accent bothers the HELL of the me. That’s why I didn’t like The Departed. The thick accents drives me up the effing wall.

The movie is very realistic. Steep in reality. Great job by Ben, but the characters took me out the film. I like the film, but it’s not on par with Mystic River.

That’s my bias with it.

My rating: **1/2 stars.
