I’m Not There. (2007)

I wanted to see this movie to gauge if the praise well deserved. I’m split about this movie.

“I’m Not There.” comes from the mind of writer/director Todd Haynes. I love Haynes movies. You would never get bored. He does different movies from different genres. That’s what I love about him.

The concept of changes actors to showcases different personas of Bob Dylan was a genius movie, but I have to say that sometimes it worked very well with Cate Blanchett and Heath Ledger. Also, some made me scratch my head like Richard Gere or Christian Bale.

I thought the filmmakers should have had Marcus Carl Franklin, Cate, and Heath. I would have been a much stronger movie.

I didn’t know what was the point of view Haynes tried to make. It was mashup of a biopic, documentary, period film, musical. Also, the film was out of sequence like Tarantino, but I was confused about what time period represents what.
