Did They Deserve Best Picture? aka Oscar Winners Meme Challenge

Hello, everyone. I am going to deviate from the normal format. I caught this thing on Sarah’s blog, Sarahmonics. You guys should check it out.

Here’s the link:

She got this idea from a friend of hers from Filmicability, Dean Treadway. I did this list like hers by choosing the films that should have won Best Picture instead of the actual one since the year I was born.

I was born in 1980. So my list will be shorter.

1980 – Raging Bull (Ordinary People)
1981 – On Golden Pond (Chariots of Fire – WTF!)
1982 – E.T. (Gandhi – 4 hour movie. Really!)
1983 – Terms of Endearment unchanged
1984 – A Soldier’s Story (Amadeus)
1985 – The Color Purple (Out of Africa)
1986 – Platoon unchanged
1987 – Broadcast News (The Last Emperor)
1988 – Rain Man unchanged
1989 – Fields of Dreams (Driving Miss Daisy)

1994 – Pulp Fiction/Shawshank Redemption (Forrest Gump)
1995 – Sense and Sensibility (Braveheart)
1996 – Fargo (The English Patient – boring)
1997 – LA Confidential (Titanic – overrated)
