The Sandlot (1993)

I was pleasantly surprised when “The Sandlot” was starting. This is one of my favorite films when I growing after the great “Stand By Me”.

“The Sandlot” is a new kid in the neighborhood, Scotty Smalls. He is a lonely kid that is such a homebody. With his mother’s insistence, she persuades him to make friends in the neighborhood. Scotty gets caught up with a makeshift little league team that plays in the sandlot.

You meet different characters like Rodriguez, Ham, Squints, Yeah-Yeah, Grover, and Repeat. At first the team thinks that Rodriguez in crazy for having a rookie on their team. After a while, they form a camaraderie.

Whenever there’s a home run, the game would be over because of the legend of “The Beast”. A mean dog that devours anything that comes into their territory.

I love this movie, especially the ending. I would get choked up whenever I see it.
